Lotus Notes Archiving with SWING PDF Converter 5

New auto-archiving capabilities in SWING PDF Converter 5 let you automatically export emails and documents from IBM Notes/Domino into PDF archives.

SWING Software announces today the release of SWING PDF Converter 5.0 for IBM Notes/Domino – a software tool for exporting Lotus Notes emails and documents into PDF files.

The latest version adds centralized archiving capabilities, which include scheduled archiving, archiving across multiple mailboxes, watch folders, folder-based classification of email records, and also additional support for PDF/A-2 and PDF/A-3 standards. Once converted to PDF along with corresponding metadata, emails and documents originated from Lotus Notes can be classified and handled as e-records, together with other related content types.

The reasons why companies might need to export content from Lotus Notes to PDF include:

  • Archiving emails and documents related to a project or client
  • Storing emails and Notes-originated documents into ECM/DMS systems, such as SharePoint, FileNet, Documentum, Alfresco, Laserfiche etc.
  • Sharing documents outside of Lotus Notes
  • Producing printable documents with custom layouts directly from Domino web applications
  • Lotus Notes migration

SWING PDF Converter does not require client installations as it is not a virtual printer driver. It can be installed as a standard Notes application either on Domino servers or on Notes clients. Application developers can use the product’s LotusScript API or Java API by including the product libraries in their Notes/Domino applications.
