Jeff Barnes, Deputy CIO at Queens College, The
Office of Converging Technologies, shared
with us his experiences in implementing the IT Policy and
Procedure System.
- We needed a method to create and distribute via the web
our Information Technology Policies and Procedures
to our campus community. We realized we had many policy
documents already in MS Word.
- We thought of leveraging our Lotus Notes environment by
creating a workflow application that would implement an
approval process. The problem was our Lotus Notes developers
were already over-committed on other tasks and we needed
this solution yesterday. That's when I saw DocPublisher. It
was just what we needed.
- More then 20,000.
- The incorporation of existing documents into a central
repository with workflow publishing of policies is exactly
what we needed. We saved many hours of development time,
quality and assurance testing, user training et al.
Its ease of use and customization makes this out of the
box solution akin to any good hardware appliance we've ever
purchased..
