Environmental Risk Management, Inc. (ERMI) is a Florida based environmental consulting firm with staff positioned throughout the state of Florida and offering selected services throughout the nation. ERMI focuses on strategies to manage environmental risk.

Challenge

ERMI has an extensive Lotus Notes infrastructure, but users were spending too much time creating Microsoft Word documents from the Lotus Notes data.

Solution

"After writing a few routines in LotusScript to create Word documents from our applications we realized that the time spent creating those routines would consume much of our programmers' time," said ERMI CIO Steve Barefoot. "SWING Integrator was a logical choice since it could perform all the functions we needed without the need for any real programming. When we compared the cost of SWING versus the cost of internal development time the choice was clear."

Results

"We have greatly reduced the time it takes to generate proposals and reports. Even though we are in the early phase of implementation the response from the user community has been overwhelmingly positive. The time to generate one type of proposal has gone from 30 minutes down to less than 5 minutes.

SWING Integrator has done most of the "heavy lifting" in the development of integrated Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes applications. I wish I would have adopted the product sooner."
